There are no formal research requirements during training; however, the Fraser Health Greater Vancouver UBC Psychiatry Program has numerous research projects and electives available to interested residents. Moreover, a strong relationship exists between the Fraser Psychiatry Program and UBC Psychiatry and Neurosciences that allows residents to explore an ever-expanding catalogue of research opportunities. Residents in the Fraser program are entitled to a half-day per week outside of clinical duties to work on research projects. Psychiatrist, Dr. Mansoor Anwar, leads the research program for residents in the Fraser track.
