While there are no formal research requirements within the residency program, residents have access to a growing range of research opportunities through the strong collaboration between Fraser Health and the UBC Department of Psychiatry.
In addition, dedicated research funding from UBC and Fraser Health, through the RCH Foundation, has supported the development of an academic research professorship position within the Fraser Health region, further enhancing opportunities for resident scholarly activity.
Residents with a particular interest in research may apply for protected research time of up to one half-day per week, allowing them to participate in research projects alongside their clinical training.
