Residents gain experience across a variety of clinical settings, including inpatient units, outpatient specialty clinics such as Memory Clinics, long-term care facilities, community mental health programs, outreach services, and consultation services with geriatrics and neurology. Training also includes hands-on experience with electroconvulsive therapy (ECT).

Rotations are based at one or more of Fraser Health’s major teaching sites, including Royal Columbian Hospital, Surrey Memorial Hospital, and Burnaby Hospital, providing residents with diverse clinical experiences and exposure to multidisciplinary models of care for older adults.
