Telepsychiatry

At a time when access to health care and services for the entire population is a concern, telepsychiatry is an option for delivering and supporting certain services from a distance. From this standpoint, telepsychiatry activities help improve access to resources throughout the Fraser region.

Telepsychiatry is one of the oldest applications of telemedicine. Although the first experiences date back to the 1950s, telepsychiatry really began to develop in the 1990s with the implementation of a number of projects, especially in adult settings.
