Surrey Memorial Hospital

SMH is a UBC-affiliated regional referral and community teaching hospital that has the busiest emergency department in B.C. The City of Surrey is growing rapidly and will soon become the largest city in the province of B.C. The hospital has recently gone under a significant expansion, including a new $40 million Clinical Academic Campus of the UBC Faculty of Medicine in addition to a brand new Emergency Department with designated Paediatric Emergency Section as well as a Mental Health and Substance Use Section.

SMH offers a range of psychiatric services, including inpatient, outpatient, consult-liaison, reproductive psychiatry, and group therapy. The psychiatry department has links with the mental health and addictions services in the community. SMH psychiatrists are part of the multidisciplinary team located in the newly developed 240,000 SF Jimmy Pattison Outpatient Care and Surgical Centre which opened in the Summer of 2011.
